Historic Hybrid

Fogg Sperry

Set on a low knoll overlooking a small brook, the historic Fogg Sperry House is located in the heart of Quechee Gorge Village.

Abel Barron originally purchased the land in 1819, with George and Minverva Fogg purchasing it from Barron in 1850 and building mansard style Victorian home that stands today.

Fogg sold the property to Dr. Charles Sperry, the village physician, in 1880.  Sperry sold the property in 1903 and during the interim years the house has served as a florist, a B & B.

The house has many architecturally interesting points, such as original floors and moldings, stained glass windows and hilltop house placement.

The exterior silhouette features signature a mansard roof style also found in nearby Quechee properties.

The photos below chronicle the current historic renovation underway as the house returns to private residence status.
